Each candidate will go through a physical assessment which will be conducted at the Nelson Mandela University in Gqeberha. Furthermore, this physical assessment will comprise of the following:

  • A basic swimming assessment (Note: Swimming is not an admission criteria but an assessment on this skill level of potential candidates as the Department will be providing swimming lessons throughout the first year of study, after which, students will be required to acquire this skill as part of their first year module);
  • A Fear of Heights and a Claustrophobia test;
  • A satisfactory Medical Fitness Certificate.

Before registration orientation will be offered annually to help candidates obtain a better understanding about the programme.

Only 28 students will be accepted into the programme.
